Mondragón Corporación Cooperativa - I had a chance to visit in the fall of 2008 on a trip organized by the Praxis Peace Institute and I was suitably impressed. Mondragón is a modern global conglomerate, complete with businesses across multiple industries, intenational subsidiaries, educational and financial arms and in 2007 it earned 16 billion in revenue. Mondragón is also employee-member governed --one person one vote-- and distributed 51% of their profits to employee members.

The corporate website is a rich source of information available in multiple languages. I particularly recommend "The History of an Experience" -- a 50+ page pdf of their history-- and the current annual report.

Also joining us will be David Smathers Moore of the TeamWorks cooperative which is inspired by Mondrag
ón.

Women and Investing

Shaula was interviewed as part of a series called The Power of Yin at the fall 2008 Investors Circle conference.  Hear and see what she has to say about the mix of angel investing, being a women investor and bringing in the social through a series of videos posted online here.  There's nearly an hour of video, but it's broken up into segments.
